Funding helps tackle anti-social behaviour in the Rhondda

MONEY from the Youth Trust is helping keep kids out of trouble by funding new football kits.
PCSOs Lee Clarke and Paul Jones, from Maerdy and Tylorstown wards in the Rhondda valley, kick-started the football team in 2009. Encouraging youths to take up a sport rather than hanging around the streets has been a great success, attendance has increased from 35 to 70.
The football has run on Friday evenings every other week for the last 15 months.
PC Lance Hill, who runs the section of the club for 10 -12 year olds, secured funding from the Youth Trust for the football kits. Village and Valleys, based at Ferndale, paid for printing the football strips with the South Wales Police Youth Trust logo.
