Young volunteers celebrate Youth Trust grant with PCSO Jonathan
Young people in Llanharan get a helping hand from the Youth Trust
The Llanharan ‘drop in’ Centre is one of the latest recipients of a grant from the South Wales Police Youth Trust Charity.
The centre which has been the hub of activity for young people over many years has been awarded £2,500 to upgrade facilities and provide new resources. It attracts over 500 visitors each week, providing evening activities as well as a community café.
Sian Davis, who’s the Operations and Finance Manager said “We are delighted to be getting help from the Youth Trust, which will improve the centre in the way local young people want.”
Local PCSO Jonathan Jones who endorsed the grant application said “The centre provides a brilliant resource for young people, and getting the grant will help it grow further and ensure the outstanding community engagement work continues.”
PCSO Jonathan Jones was joined by some young volunteers and youth workers to celebrate the news that the grant had been awarded. But after a very quick photo shoot, the group was off to paint a local community centre.
To find out more about the centre please contact Sian Davis on 01443 229723 or PCSO Jonathan Jones on 07805301055.
